Our full day tour shows you two romantic medieval castles situated on the banks of the Vltava river. Orlík is one of the preserved seats of old nobility of Bohemia, to whom the Schwarzenberg family belonged. The interior of the castle documents their political and military influence as well as their gradual integration with the Czech nation. We will see richly appointed apartments - the Hall of the Hunt, Knight´s Hall, Library, Chinese Saloon, beautiful carved ceilings, fine period furniture, arms and armour, hunting trophies, pictures, porcelain, etc. 15 km/9 miles south of Orlík, on the rocky hill above the Vltava river, stands Zvíkov castle, one of the most celebrated and best preserved royal seats in Bohemia. Among its most notable features are the arcades courtyard and the 15th and the 16th century frescoes in the chapel which are jewels of Bohemian Early Gothic art. Between these two castles we will enjoy a cruise with a wonderful view of both castles from the Vltava river.
